Jimmy Gray's squad continued their pre-season campaign this afternoon at Uxbridge's Honeycroft, with a solid performance being rewarded by two late goals and a win. For all that, Zaki Oualah was probably the standout for the Greens in the first half, not only with a great save to keep the score level but nearly getting himself on the scoresheet; his clearance went only inches wide of the post.
As normal, Gray continued to look at his options, making a large number substitutions during the second half and the goals came from two of the players who were brought on; both trialists who managed to make the most of their opportunity to show what they're capable of.
As ever, the result will have pleased the backroom staff as they continue to prepare for the start of the league season, now only a fortnight away, but more important was the promise shown as the squad continue to gel.
