The next club to feature that we have never played before is Swindon Supermarine. They were established in 1992 as a merger between two clubs then playing in the Hellenic League, Supermarine and Swindon Athletic. Supermarine were formed in 1946 from the social club associated with the Supermarine aircraft company, whilst Swindon Athletic was formed in 1968 as Penhill before renaming in 1989.
The new club won the Hellenic League in 1998, but were denied promotion due to ground grading issues. However, three years later they won the championship again and were promoted to the Southern League. Life was tough for the first four years in Division One West, but in 2006 they qualified for the play-offs, losing to Hemel Hempstead Town in the final. They were successful the following year, beating Taunton Town in the play-off final.
Their first season in the Premier Division saw a 12th place finish, and in 2010-11 they had their best FA Cup run, reaching the second round where they lost 1-0 to Colchester United. They dropped back to Division One in 2012, but return to the Premier Division this season after success in the play-offs once again.
