The under 18s run in the FA Youth Cup came to an end this evening as they were beaten 2-1 at Boreham Wood. However, the youngsters can be very proud of their performance, particularly as they conceded two goals in a five minute spell in the first half, the goals coming in the 14th and 19th minutes.
However, they refused to give up and gradually grew into the game, and were rewarded in the 77th minute when Riccardo Alexander-Greenaway bundled the ball home. There were chances to take the game into extra-time, but in the last minute the home side were awarded a penalty, but Dan Purdue stood firm and made a good save.
