The first team found Enfield Town very tough to break down this evening as they went down to a 1-0 defeat at the Queen Elizabeth II Stadium.
The home side took the lead in the 11th minute through Sam Youngs following a rare defensive slip, and then did a great job of ensuring the Greens found it very difficult to create chances with an outstanding defensive performance led by the experienced pairing of Mario Noto and Darren Purse.
There were chances at both ends, but efforts either flew high, wide or found either Tom Lovelock or Joe Wright easily.
Results elsewhere mean that the Greens remain in second place in the league as they now prepare for the trip to Billericay Town on Saturday.
