A mass confrontation in second half stoppage time involving most players and both benches resulted in today's game against AFC Sudbury being abandoned by the referee. During the confrontation, Kevin Maclaren was sent off for violent conduct, despite having left the field after being substituted midway through the second half. The score at the time of the abandonment saw our visitors leading 2-1.

The outcome of the game will be decided by the Ryman League in due course, whilst the club will await any charges that come from the FA after the referee has submits his report this evening.

As for the game itself, the Greens were two goals down at half time - as a result of not taking their chances, and poor defending allowing Sudbury to score twice, first of all Ryan Henshaw finding the back of the net in the 16th minute, and Craig Parker doubling the lead in the 25th minute. Before Sudbury had scored, Hendon had three or four good chances, but the final finishes were found wanting.

Gary McCann made two changes at half-time, and this saw the Greens take the game to their visitors, and it was no surprise when they pulled a goal back when Elliott Charles turned home a cross from Reis Stanislaus. Further chances came the way of the Greens but again they were unable to find the back of the net, whilst Berkley Laurencin made one excellent save low down at full stretch.

Sadly, any chance of a late equaliser failed to materialise as the mass confrontation blew up, leaving the referee no option but to abandon the game.
