The first team ended 2016 with another defeat this afternoon, the fifth in a row, going down 3-2 at Staines Town., meaning that they are now eight games without a win.
At half time this afternoon, things were looking more positive as the Greens were 1-0 ahead courtesy of a Casey Maclaren goal, but the game was lost in ten second half minutes.
On the hour mark Afolabi Coker equalised and within another two minutes, Adrian Clifton had put the Swans ahead. In the 70th minute, as again the Greens conceded goals in quick succession, Clifton struck again to make it 3-1. A late consolation from Maclaren was only enough to make the scoreline look more respectable.
The result means that the Greens have conceded 23 goals in the last 6 games - almost 4 per game - a flow of goals that needs to be stemmed as a matter of urgency.
It is the worst run of league results since the start of the 2006-07 season, when just 2 points were picked up in the first 11 games.
There is no doubt whatsoever that the club go into 2017 knowing that performances and results need to improve as quickly as possible to avoid relegation.
