Hendon manager Gary McCann was happy overall with the point against the Ryman League leaders Hampton & Richmond Borough on Saturday afternoon.
"I never go into a game just looking for a draw," he said. "I want to win every game. But, given where we are, the performance last week and our fragile confidence, I am delighted to get a draw against Hampton.
"I am so proud of the players and the effort and commitment they put in. This is especially so on the back of the deserved criticism they received last week.
"We had to have our 'A' game and keep to it for the full 90 minutes and we certainly did that. Every player did their job as we asked them to and if I had to single out one player it would be Casey Maclaren who kept a very dangerous striker quiet and limited him to almost no chances, ably assisted by big Dave Diedhiou.
"All in all, I think we were worth the point. Both teams created chances and missed some very good ones. And, if we had timed a couple of passes better in the last few minutes, we might even have snatched the victory."
