A new book by author and Hendon resident Terry Morris entitled 'In a Class of Their Own: A History of English Amateur Football' features Hendon Football Club. It is the first comprehensive study of football at amateur level from the middle of the nineteenth century until the abolition of any formal distinction between amateurism and professionalism in 1974.

As Hendon was so prominent in amateur football during this period there is much in the book that relates to the club.
