An upbeat Hendon manager Gary McCann looked back at the draw with Kingstonian and said, "This was a very big point in the circumstances. I was delighted with the reaction of the players after Saturday. It was a performance that showed real character.
"It goes without saying that this was a dramatic improvement from the weekend. Maybe the most pleasing aspect was that when we conceded the equaliser so soon after going in front, we didn't collapse, because many teams would have fallen apart with such a setback.
"We said to the players in the dressing room before the game that they should express themselves on the pitch. We wanted to be as offensive minded as possible, but to be aware of the danger that they posed.
"I was very pleased with a number of the performances, but want to single out Dave Diedhiou, who did a great job for us tonight. Whatever position we ask him to play for us, he just sticks up his thumb and gets on with it.
"To be honest, our front men - and the creative ones just behind them - are not firing on all cylinders at the moment, but, for one reason or another, every one of them has missed time.
"I sincerely hope that last night was the first match of a new run for us. It will be massively important to continue that when we play VCD on Saturday."
