The first team put in a disciplined but ultimately fruitless performance this afternoon as they lost 1-0 to landlords Harrow Borough in the first Earlsmead derby of the season.
The pitch had once again been made slick by the morning rain, and the opening exchanges were even. However, as the half went on Harrow looked the more likely to score and they were rewarded when a Hendon defender handled in the area, and Marc Charles-Smith stepped up to convert.
The Greens had plenty of possession in the second half, but found Harrow's defence in fine form restricting them to shots off target. The best chance fell to Mahrez Bettache who saw his effort fly narrowly wide and high of the goal.
