Manager Gary McCann was a very proud man following the win over Canvey Island. He said, "I am proud to call this group of players 'My team'.
"How do I feel after that? Tired, mentally drained, and I don't know how the players are feeling, but it must be much worse. We were not at our best in the first half, but even so we still created three good chances.
"But the second half performance was a fantastic response to the words we said at half-time. It was magnificent and commendable and we had to dig really deep for the win. But we could have scored three or more in the second half.
"Everyone feels tired, but the tiredness does not become a factor until you are losing. That is when you feel it. It says so much about this group of players that they have been able to maintain their focus.
"We still feel we have a chance of doing something very special and winning the title. But we must take it one game at a time."
