A slightly frustrated Gary McCann has reflected on the win over Grays Athletic yesterday afternoon.
He said, “I am pleased with the three points. It was a professional performance that shows what we are capable of.
"But the last four minutes took the gloss off the overall performance. We gave away two bad goals when we switched off.
"Our first half play was very good and we could have scored more than the two goals we got. We kept the ball very well and looked dangerous.
"We set out to be more defensive in the second half, but we probably played too deeply. We could have been more expansive in the second half and could also have made better use of possession when we had it.
"But, for all of Grays' possession, we limited them to very few chances and our defence was excellent. Charlie Goode was outstanding on his debut. We have been watching him for quite a while now."
