Gary McCann was understandably very happy following last night's win over Canvey Island
"It was a good win for us," he said. "It puts us (in 10th place) more like where I expected this group to be and where we deserve to be.
"I didn't think we started very well, but you have to give credit to Canvey Island for the way they started. Apart from Dean Cracknell's shot, we were not in the game in the opening 20 minutes and deserved to be behind.
"Our equaliser kick-started us and then we scored again so quickly we took control. The goal immediately after half-time was exactly what we had talked about in the dressing room and it allowed us to be a little more relaxed after that. Even after their penalty, we did take it easier in the final half-hour, though we also had chances to score again."
