Gary McCann admitted there had been mistakes in the draw with East Thurrock United. He said, "We deserved a point but not much more. It might have been a reaction to last Sunday's game against Oxford.
"With two games in three days this weekend, I was thinking about freshening up the personnel in the squad, but decided against it. But we were very flat.
"When we scored at the very end of the first half, I felt we had not deserved to be leading at half-time. And although East Thurrock came out very strongly at the start of the second half, it was mistakes in our midfield and defence that gave them the equaliser.
"It was another mistake which gave them the lead, but I was delighted with the way that we upped our game we deserved our equaliser. After that I thought we might have gone on to get the victory.
"The game was far from a classic. There was not enough quality from either side for there to be much goalmouth action. Overall, however, I think we worked their goalkeeper a little more than they worked ours."
