A screaming shot from 30 yards by Casey Maclaren set Hendon on their way to a 4-0 win at Thamesmead Town this afternoon. The result puts the Greens top of the embryonic league table on alphabetical order.
Maclaren's goal was the highlight of not only the first half, but the game as he let rip with his shot that gave Rob Budd no chance in the home goal.
The Greens then ground down their opponents in the second half, and were rewarded when Jefferson Louis opened his account as he headed home a fine cross from Anthony Thomas with ten minutes to go. Five minutes later Thomas also made the scoresheet, knocking the ball home from close range to score on his second debut for the club, before Brandon Horner joined the debutant scorers with a diving header in stoppage time.
It was an excellent professional performance by Gary McCann's charges, and they will go into Monday's home game against Dulwich Hamlet full of confidence.
