The Chelsea U21 squad showed their class as they won 2-0 at Earlsmead tonight, and included Josh McEachran in their starting line up.
With Jody Morris and Jon Harley also in the starting line-up there was plenty of experience to assist the Blues youngsters.
The Greens meanwhile gave most of the squad 45 minutes, ensuring that as many as possible got the chance to pit their wits against their professional opponents.
Chelsea scored a goal in each half, the first coming on the stroke of half-time when Josh McEachran coolly scored from the penalty spot.
The only goal of the second period came midway through the half when Ben Pattie broke clear of the back line to slot the ball past Cameron Inch.
It must be said that the Greens did not disgrace themselves - and were unfortunate not to go in all square at half-time - and they will be able to take plenty of positives into Saturday's first league game at Thamesmead.
