The first team return to Canvey Island on Saturday afternoon, this time to face Concord Rangers in what promises to be another tough test for the squad.
Concord come into the game in 3rd place, just two points behind second placed Wealdstone following their 4-1 win over Wingate & Finchley this evening, in which recent signing Leon Mackenzie scored a hat-trick. This means they have a more than able replacement for striker Harry Elmes, who suffered a double leg break a couple of weeks ago, and we of course wish him all the best for a speedy recovery.
In the reverse fixture back in August, the final score was 2-2 at Vale Farm. Jack Mazzone and Greg Ngoyi, both now departed, were on target for the Greens, whilst Concord's scorers were James White and Tony Stokes in a game where the visitors had Danny Glozier sent off in the second half for a second caution.
Gary McCann will be keen to ensure that the squad bounce back from the disappointing defeat to Harrow Borough on Tuesday night, and get some more points on the board on Saturday afternoon.
Kick off at Thames Road is at 3.00pm, and we hope to see as many of you as possible there.
