Although the Greens remain second from bottom, they go into Monday's game at Kingstonian in the knowledge that a positive result will move the club out of the relegation zone.
It was Julian Owusu-Bekoe who gave the Greens the lead in the 38th minute, with Belal Aite-Ouakrim doubling the lead just before half-time.
Josh Clarke pulled a goal back for the Robins in the 56th minute but Dave Diedhiou made sure of the points eight minutes from time.
