Hendon progressed through the first qualifying round of the FA Cup with a comfortable 3-0 win at AFC Hayes this afternoon.

Wearing the new yellow away strip, the Dons took the lead in the 2nd minute when Jamie Busby converted a spot kick after Greg Ngoyi had been fouled by the keeper. Fourteen minutes later the lead was doubled when Ngoyi turned in a low cross from Elliott Godfrey.

It was then a comfortable afternoon, with three experienced substitutes, Kevin Maclaren, Danny Dyer and James Parker, all joining the fray during the second half. In fact, the six outfield subsitutes named have made a combined total of 1151 appearances for the club after today's game.

The final goal came in the closing stages when Busby fired a free kick over the wall and past the statuesque keeper.

The next round is due to be played on Saturday 1st October and consequently our league game against Metropolitan Police is postponed. The draw for the second qualifying round will be made on Monday, and we'll have news of it as soon as it is available.
