We join the FA Cup trail this weekend, as the 66 Step 3 clubs join the remaining 166 clubs from the lower divisions in the first qualifying round.
We make the short trip to West London to play AFC Hayes, who as supporters will be aware were known as Brook House until 2008. Our opponents play at Step 4 in the Southern League Central Division, and come into the game on the back of 4 successive wins against Uxbridge, Tring Athletic (in the previous round of the FA Cup), Marlow and Bedfont Town.
They currently lie 9th in their league table, just five points behind joint leaders Biggleswade Town, St Neots Town and Beaconsfield SYCOB.
We have only played AFC Hayes twice in competitive games in the past, and honours are even. The first game was in November 2005 when we won 2-1 in the League Cup, and then most recently in April 2009 we were beaten 2-0 in the Middlesex Senior Cup Final.
Gary and the squad had a good training session last night, and will be keen to make a positive start on the FA Cup trail, as they bid to firstly match, and then improve on last season's run which was ended in the first round at CHelmsford City.
Kick off at AFC Hayes tomorrow is at 3.00pm, and if a replay is required, it will take place at Vale Farm on Wednesday evening, kicking off at 7.45pm.
