Hendon's excellent start to the season continued this afternoon as they won 2-0 at Margate, meaning that the Greens are yet to concede a goal away from home this season.
The first half was a poor affair, but whilst things livened up in the second period, it was Margate that looked the better side. That changed in the 70th minute when the Greens were awarded a dubious looking penalty, but Jamie Busby wasn't going to turn the chance down and he converted the penalty in his usual clinical style.
The lead was doubled in the 77th minute when, after a string of corners, Margate half cleared their lines, but Kevin Maclaren was able to play it back towards the far post. The Margate keeper failed to claim the ball, and before he could retrieve the situation, it had rolled over the line.
From there on the Greens were able to hold on to secure the win, and a fourth clean sheet of the season, meaning that they remain on top of the table, a point ahead of Canvey Island and Lowestoft Town. Canvey's win at Wingate & Finchley means that Hendon are the only remaining unbeaten side in the league.
