Hendon put in their most complete performance since the turn of the year this evening, beating league leaders Sutton United 1-0 at Vale Farm. The Greens matched their opponents from the off, with Kevin Scriven showing himself to be in good form with three excellent stops during the opening period. As the game moved towards half time Sutton applied pressure themselves, but it was Hendon who took the lead as Belal Aite-Ouakrim broke clear and was able to play the ball across the penalty area to an unmarked Aaron Morgan.
During a fairly even second half, Sutton came close a number of times during a 10 minute spell midway through the half, but found Berkley Laurencin's handling to be impeccable and ended the game frustrated as Hendon managed to successfully run the clock down. The result moves the Greens up to thirteenth in the table, leapfrogging Wealdstone, Margate and Tooting.
