Hendon were knocked out of the FA Cup at the 3rd Qualifying Round for the second year running today, Hastings United recording a win which was more comfortable than the 2-1 scoreline suggested. Hastings were dominant for the first 85 minutes - restricting Hendon to just three decent efforts in the entire game - although despite four good efforts in the first half, the East Sussex side failed to go ahead into half time. However, the breakthrough came in the 55th minute through Danny Simmonds, the Dr Martens League side then doubling their lead in the 86th minute through Graham Webb. Hendon hit back just a minute later - a deflection off Hastings defender Adam Flanagan pulling one back for the Greens, but despite throwing all they could at Hastings in the last 5 minutes, Hendon couldn't find the equaliser.
