The reserves ran out comfortable 4-1 winners against Woking this evening. They took the lead in the 19th minute when Ricardo Alves glanced home a header, and three minutes later Dale Binns latched on to a ball, beat his marker and slotted the ball home from an angle. The third goal came shortly before half time when Rene James-Barriteau, who caused problems all evening with his pace, finished well after breaking through the defence. Woking fought back in the second half and deservedly pulled a goal back with 20 minutes to go. The final goal came in stoppage time when Gary Meakins fed a quick free kick through to James-Barriteau who finished clinically. Another positive to come out of the game was that Jon-Barrie Bates came through his first 90 minutes since returning from holiday, and had an influential performance in midfield.
