After a traumatic summer, the Greens can concentrate on football again as they kick-off their 42nd consecutive season in the top division of the Isthmian League on Saturday with a trip to Yeading. Our hosts won Division One North, but fell to Lewes in the first round of the playoffs for one of the two remaining places in the new Conference South. This is Yeading's second spell in the top flight, having spent six seasons in the Premier Division in the 1990s. Last season, Yeading won a pre-season friendly 4-3 at Claremont Road (Eugene Ofori 2, and Steve Forbes netting for Hendon). The Greens did play at The Warren last season in the Middlesex Senior Cup Final, when they beat Uxbridge 3-1 after extra time (Ofori, Martin Randall and Dave Hunt finding the net). We look forward to seeing as many supporters as possible at the game, and it would be an added bonus to hear plenty of noise coming from behind the goal.
