The club has been in discussions over the past couple days with Chelmsford City with regard to the arrangements for our forthcoming FA Cup tie. We can confirm that the game at Melbourne Park will be played on Saturday 6th November, kicking off at 3:00pm. Should a replay be required, it will take place at Vale Farm on Tuesday 16th November, kicking off at 7:45pm.
Admission prices for the game at Chelmsford will be £11 for adults, £7 for concessions and £3 for under 16s. There will be an additional £1 charge if you wish to sit in the stand. There are no plans to sell tickets in advance of the game, and we are not aware of any plans for segregation.
We have been made aware that due to the terms of Chelmsford's lease at Melbourne Park, musical instruments are not allowed in the stadium. Therefore, we advise any supporters who were intending to bring any instruments to leave them at home so as to avoid any awkward situations at the turnstiles.
Supporters are also advised that Melbourne Park is a no smoking stadium. However, there is a designated smoking area on the hard-standing outside of the clubhouse.
The admission prices for if a replay is required will also be £11 for adults, £7 for concessions and £3 for under 16s. There will not be an additional charge for the stand at Vale Farm.
In terms of travel, no decision has yet been made as to whether supporters will be able to travel on the team coach. A decision will be made on this by early next week.
If you are planning to travel by public transport, please be advised that there is engineering works between Liverpool Street and Shenfield. National Express East Anglia advises passengers should travel to Newbury Park on the Central Line, from where a direct bus will be available to take you to Ingatestone, from where you will be able to pick up the trains to Chelmsford. The Central Line, replacement bus service and trains between Ingatestone and Chelmsford will all be operating approximately every 10 minutes. The advice is to allow at least 90 minutes for your journey from Central London to Chelmsford Station.
Upon arriving at Chelmsford Station, there is a frequent bus service to the Melbourne area of the town, operated by First Bus. You should catch either a 54 or 56 towards North Melbourne (not Springfield) and they depart very close to the station.
If you are planning to drive to Chelmsford, please be aware that parking is limited at the stadium and the car park will fill up very quickly. If you do drive, it is likely that you will have to park on the roads nearby, and you are asked to show consideration to the local residents when parking your vehicle. The postcode for those using SatNav is CM1 2EH.
If you have any questions regarding the Chelmsford game, or indeed a possible replay, please email us at admin@hendonfc.net and we will get back to you as quickly as we can.
