Single goal enough for Walton

A single goal was enough for Walton & Hersham to win tonights game 1-0 at Stompond Lane. In a first half which Walton controlled from start to finish, Hendon looked lacklustre and it was no surprise when the home side took the lead when Scott Edgar was left unmarked from a corner to head home. Hendon's best first half chance fell to Belal Aiteouakrim who fired a 25 yard drive just over the bar. The Greens came out with a much better attitude in the second half and did everything except score. Aiteouakrim, Ross Pickett and John Frendo all had good chances but either hit the woodwork or saw the keeper scramble the ball to safety. James Parker was lucky not to be badly injured in a very nasty challenge from Lee Riddell whilst Dave King made two good one on one saves late on in the second half.
