80 years ago today, on Saturday 18th September 1926 at 3.30pm, Hampstead (as the club was then known) entertained Berkhamsted Town in an FA Cup tie, the first game ever played at Claremont Road. Hampstead ran out 4-3 winners with Evans scoring twice and Sar and Shearcroft also finding the back of the net. Devlin, Wright and Boardman scored for Berkhamsted in front of a crowd of 3,500 - some difference to the 132 in attendance on Saturday afternoon some 80 years later.
