Hendon Under-18s clinched the Cheshunt Youth League championship with a comprehensive rout of Yalova Youth in their final match of the season. Playing some outstanding football, Yalova barely got a look in the whole of the 90 minutes and were trailing from the eighth minute, when Corey Stewart scored. Seven minutes later, Bradley Ambrose doubled the advantage and some superb approach play, in the 31st minute, ended with Patrick Daval making it 3-0. The goal of the match came moments before half-time, when Steven Gonzalez struck a magnificent long-range shot into the net. After the break, Hendon were even better. Such was the quality of their football that spectators watching other matches came over to see Hendon toying with Yalova. Barkley Miguel Panzo got number five after 55 minutes, and the goals kept coming. In the final 29 minutes, Hendon added another seven, from seven different players: Jerome Ntumba, Jay Oloko, Sholto Nene, Daval (his second - the only player to score more than once), Ivan Tihati, Mohammed Afsari and Ferhat Pirudak. Joint manager Jason Fevrier said, "I was proud to be there to watch them play like that. We won the championship in great style and we played Yalova off the park today; our passing and movement was top class. At one point in the second half, such was our domination, I think our goalkeeper was sunbathing! It was great that we had so many different scorers; in fact only our right back and goalkeeper failed to get a goal. There was no man of the match today. Everyone who took part today deserves to share the award."

The under 18s need four points from their remaining two fixtures to secure their league title this season following their 4-1 win over current leaders Whitewebbs Eagles earlier today. The young Greens lie three points behind, with Whitewebbs having now finished their season. The first goal came in the 31st minute when Patrick Daval hit a shot with the outside of his boot, with the ball finding the bottom corner of the goal. Left back Ferhat Pirudak converted a cross from Daval in the 55th minute with a half volley to double the lead, and then in the 68th minute Corey Steward played a great reverse pass to Hasan Durgungurdu who calmly slotted the ball into the net. Whitewebbs pulled a goal back in the 78th minute, but three minutes from time Bradley Ambrose converted a spot kick after Daval was fouled in the box following a great solo run where he beat four players, only to be brought down by the fifth. "Our three in midfield were outstanding, and were too much for Whitewebbs to cope with," said a delighted Jason Fevrier after the game. "My man of the match today is captain Patrick Daval who was asolute class from start to finish."

Hendon Under-18s went out of the Lucas Fettes (Isthmian League) Youth Cup on Thursday night when Northwood scored twice in extra time to force a 4-2 victory in their third round tie. For the opening 45 minutes, Hendon were outstanding and they went into the break holding a 1-0 advantage, the goal coming from Barkley Miguel Panzo. In the second half, Northwood came back into the game and they managed to score two sloppy goals from a defensive point of view, both coming from set pieces. With 10 minutes of the normal time remaining, however, Hendon grabbed an equaliser courtesy of Ryan McFarlane. There was one great opportunity for Hendon to snatch a winner before extra time, but Bradley Ambrose failed to convert the 85th-minute chance that came his way. In the first period of extra time, Northwood regained the lead and they added a fourth goal before the teams turned around. The second period of extra time was an uphill battle for Hendon, both figuratively and - for those who know the Chestnut Avenue ground - literally, and although they never gave up trying, the Greens couldn’t find a goal to get back into the match. Joint manager Jason Fevrier said, "I was really pleased with the performance, but not with the result. On a good day we would have scored a lot more goals. I can’t really blame the boys; they put in a great shift, but it just wasn't our day. Effort, hunger and desire: they were all 10 out of 10. "Patrick Daval was absolute outstanding and they only way they could stop him was by trying to hack him down. But he still managed to hit the crossbar with a shot in extra time."

Hendon Under-18s suffered a second upset defeat in three matches as they slipped to a 1-0 Cheshunt Youth League defeat at the hands of Apoel. Hendon started slowly and were made to pay after 15 minutes when their hosts scored what proved to be the only goal. A stern half-time talk had the desired effect on Hendon, who took control of the game. The only area of the pitch, however, where they were not on top was in the Apoel penalty area as Hendon failed to convert any of the five excellent chances they created. Joint manager Jason Fevrier said, "If we had taken our chances in the second half we could have buried them. We should have scored five times. It was a harsh lesson learned and I hope the players will take it into their next game, the Lucas Fettas (Ryman League) Youth Cup tie at Northwood on Thursday. My man of the match was central defender Shelto Nene, who was excellent throughout the game."

Hendon Under-18s bounced back from the disappointment of their Cheshunt Youth League Cup exit at the hands of Whitewebbs Eagles to record an 8–0 trouncing over William Fitt in the Cheshunt Youth League on Sunday. Welcoming back skipper Steven Gonzalez in the heart of midfield and central defender Shoto Nene made a huge difference to the overall performance and attitude. Corey Stewart opened the scoring after 12 minutes and, seven minutes later, a brilliant piece of control and a calm finish brought Bradley Ambrose his first goal. Ivan Tihati extended the lead eight minutes before the interval, but Hendon far from finished with their first-half scoring. A brilliant strike from Stewart brought him a second goal after 41 minutes and, moments before the whistle, Ambrose bagged his second. The race to complete a hat-trick was won by Ambrose, who scored in the 56th minute. Twelve minutes later, Stewart was also celebrating a three-time and Hendon rounded off the scoring with their eighth, from Hasan Dugunyurdu, 11 minutes from the end. "I am very pleased with the football we played today," said joint manager Jason Fevrier. "Some of our passing was outstanding. My man of the match was Steven Gonzalez who controlled the game from midfield and was a great leader."

Hendon crashed out of the Cheshunt Youth League Cup, losing 5-1 to a Whitewebbs Eagles team, like Hendon, looking to complete a League and Cup double. This was a hugely disappointing performance by Hendon, one which had joint manager Jason Fevrier seething. He felt that a number of players really hadn’t performed anywhere near as well as they could and their attitude was equally unacceptable. "Two or three players didn't turn up or played as if they were still in their pyjamas," he railed. Hendon were trailing to goals after 30 and 40 minutes, but they got back into the game two minutes before the break when Barkley Miguel Panzo scored after a long free-kick had been played into the penalty area. A strong half-time talk seemed to get the team roused from their torpor, but a messy, multiply-deflected third Whitewebbs goal after 53 minutes knocked the stuffing out of Hendon and they conceded a fourth goal five minutes later. Whitewebbs completed the scoring 20 minutes from the end. "I was so disappointed in the way that we played and the attitude we showed," said Fevrier.

Hendon Under-18s have, for a few weeks, been promising to give a team a severe beating and, on Sunday, they delivered in style. Enfield Community were the unfortunate team on the wrong end of a 15-0 drubbing in the Cheshunt Youth League as a magnificent performance gained full reward. Amazingly, with a little less than half an hour on the clock, Hendon's lead was only two goals, first-team squad members Bradley Ambrose (12 minutes) and Barkley Miguel Panzo (21), netting. Enfield Community conceded a third goal, to Jerome Ntumba, after 29 minutes and Panzo got his second seven minutes later. In the second half, it was one way traffic as Hendon added 11 goals, started by Ambrose, three minutes after the resumption. Ferhat Pirudak got in on the act after 56 minutes, followed, four minutes later, by Corey Sewart. Last week's match-winning hero Ivan Tihati, again a substitute had an even more prolific impact after coming, bagging three of the next five goals. In between Tihati's first and second strikes, Jay Ooko netted and, before Tihati completed his hat-trick, Ntumba bagged his second. As Enfield Community crumbled Ryan McFarlane, Hassan Dungunyrdu and Patrick Daval all go their names on the scoresheet. Despite 10 different goalscorers, the man of the match award was shared between Steven Gonzalez, who failed to find the target and Daval, who got the last of the 15 goals. "As a pair, they completely dominated the middle of the park," said manager Jason Fevrier. "We were in complete control and, by the end of the game, Enfield seemed to give up and they were arguing with each other. We played some fantastic football and our movement was superb."

Hendon Under-18s' only defeat in the Cheshunt Youth League so far this season came when, due an administrative issue, they were forced to forfeit a match against high-flying Bush Hill Rangers. Hendon gained a degree of revenge in the League Cup a few weeks ago, but, more importantly, picked up three League points from the game against them on Sunday. New signing Ayodeji Akinyemi gave Hendon the lead after 11 minutes, an advantage they held until seven minutes before half-time. Eleven minutes into the second half, Bush Hill Rangers took the lead, signalling a double-change by the Hendon management pair of Lee Hayes and Jason Fevrier. On came Ryan McFarlane and another newcomer, Cory Stewart, who has impressed with his attitude in training recently. They made a rapid difference and they stretched the Bush Hill defence to breaking point allowing first-team squad member Barkley Miguel Panzo the chance to drive home a 73rd-minute equaliser. Hayes and Fevrier had one more ace up their sleeve. His name is Ivan Tihati and he was sent on for the final few minutes with the express instructions of running at the defence and trying to score a winning goal. With almost the last touch of the Tihati did just that and Hendon grabbed all three points. Fevrier said, "This was probably our worst performance of the season as a team, but we still managed to grind out a win. I am giving my man of the match award to Ivan Tihati. We sent him on with certain instructions and he followed them perfectly. I must also mention goalkeeper Sean Bazell, who made some very important saves to keep us in the game."

The Cheshunt Youth League have announced that Puma 2000 have folded, and their results have been expunged from the league table. The table has been updated accordingly.

Hendon Under-18s' only defeat of the season - at Bush Hill Rangers - came as a result of a Cheshunt Youth League rule, rather than anything that happened on the pitch, so the Green' 7-2 League Cup victory against the same Bush Hill Rangers was especially sweet. It took only eight minutes for Hendon to open the scoring, Luke Edgar the man on target. In the 20th minute, Bradley Ambrose doubled the advantage and Hendon were in complete control. However, a controversial penalty decision against the team allowed Bush Hill Rangers the chance to reduce the arrears before the interval, which they duly did. The half-time talk was all about taking the positives from the first half and going on from there and they boys responded magnificently. A great solo strike by Ferhat Pirudak, five minutes in to the second period, made it 3-1, and the tie was effectively settled five minutes later when Barkley Miguel Panzo added number four. It was 5-1 on the hour, Hassan Dugunyurdu scoring, and 6-1, ten minutes later, as Patrick Daval became Hendon's sixth different scorer. Although Bush Hill Rangers did get a second consolation goal, eight minutes from the end, there was still enough time for Ambrose to grab his second and complete a very satisfactory afternoon. "This was a great team effort," said delighted joint manager Jason Fevrier. "Some of our play was exceptional. It was a very physical encounter, but we more than held our own. Our central midfield completely bossed the game. My man of the match was Steven Gonzalez, who was superb in a midfield holding role."

Hendon Under-18s travelled to previously undefeated league leaders Whitewebbs Eagles and returned home with all three points after a superb performance hade seen them win 4–2. Daniel Mulley gave Hendon the lead after eight minutes and the advantage was doubled midway through the half, courtesy of Bradley Ambrose. Whitewebbs hit back quickly, scoring four minutes later, and then had a great chance to equalise, after 40 minutes, when they were awarded a penalty. Sean Bazell, however, was equal to the spot-kick and produced a brilliant save, one of a number of excellent stops. Ivan Tihati stretched the Hendon lead for the second time when he scored after 65 minutes, only for Whitewebbs to again reduce the deficit 15 minutes later. It set up a grandstand finish in the final 10 minutes, but Hendon held their collective nerves and made the game safe with five minutes to go when Patrick Daval scored a fourth Hendon goal. "We played really well in very difficult circumstances," enthused assistant manager Jason Fevrier. "They were unbeaten going into the game and we deserved to win. My man of the match was goalkeeper Sean Bazell. Not only did he command his penalty area well, he made some great saves, most notably the penalty."

Hendon Under-18s, went into their match without their first-choice goalkeeper, Sean Bazell being ill, but they were far too strong for Jubba Sports, winning 9–0 on Sunday morning. A great strike from Bradley Ambrose started the rout after 10 minutes, finding the net with a great strike, and he got his second five minutes later. Barclay Miguel Panzo got his name on the scoreseet after 27 minutes before Ambrose completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot six minutes later. Five minutes into the second half, Hassan Dugunyurdu made it 5-0 and Daniel Malley added the next one midway through the period. Ambrose completed his four-timer after 73 minutes and Dugunyurdu smashed a superb volley into the net for his second goal with 10 minutes on the clock. Two minutes before the final whistle, Dugunyurdu became the second hat-trick man of the game when he made it 9-0. "This was an excellent overall team performance," enthused happy assistant manager Jason Fevrier. "There was lots of impressive passing combinations and the boys really look as though they are enjoying playing together. They are showing excellent spirit. I must give special mention to Steven Gonzalez and Jay Oloko, who both played a half in goal and looked very accomplished. My man of the match was four-goal Bradley Ambrose, closely followed by Hassan Dugunyurdu."

Hendon Under--8s paid their second visit to Enfield Community in three weeks, this time in the Cheshunt Youth League Cup and, again, they returned victorious, this time after winning both halves 4-1. In the fifth minute, Hendon were awarded a penalty, which Steven Gonazalez converted. Nine minutes later, Barkley Miguel-Banzo doubled the advantage. Enfield Community did reduce the arrears midway through the half, but Bradley Ambrose restored the two-goal lead after 33 minutes and Jay Oloko made it 4-1, four minutes before the interval. Just before the hour mark, Miguel-Banzo scored his second, but Hendon soon conceded a second goal. Any nerves were quickly soothed when Sholto Nene scored with a header. With 13 minutes remaining, Ambrose scored the goal of the game with a delicious lob from a very tight angle. Then, in the final minute, Hendon won another penalty and Ambrose completed his hat-trick with a confident spot-kick. "It was a phenomenal effort by the whole team," said delighted assistant manager Jason Fevrier, "and we played some great football. My man of the match was Bradley Ambrose, who got into some great positions, supplied his fellow strikers time after time and got himself a hat-trick."

The under 18s progressed through to the third round of the Ryman Youth Cup courtesy of a hard fought 2-1 extra-time win over Barnet (Black). The young Greens took the lead in the 25th minute courtesy of a goal from Bradley Ambrose. Barnet equalised with 10 minutes to go from the penalty spot, but Ambrose struck again 10 minutes into the first period of extra time. Assistant manager Jason Fevrier said "This really was a result we had to grind out. My man of the match was Bradley Ambrose for his two goals."

Hendon Under-18s travelled to Enfield Community for a Cheshunt Youth League fixture in a precursor to a League Cup tie against the same opponents - at the same venue - two weeks hence. And the Hendon boys returned home delighted with a magnificent second-half performance, which saw them score six times without reply. After dominating the opening half-hour, without being able to make the breakthrough, Hendon were shocked to concede a goal after 35 minutes. But they hit back quickly, drawing level courtesy of Barkley Miguel-Banzo. Eight minutes into the second half, Barkley was brought down inside the penalty area and Ayub El-Harrick made no mistake with the spot kick. After 60 minutes, El-Harrick had his second goal of the afternoon, this one a stunning 25-yard volley into the top corner. Barkley made it 4–1 in the 72nd minute and, three minutes, Barkley had his hat-trick as Hendon put the game far beyond Enfield Community's reach. When Patrick Daval got his name on the scoresheet in the 78th minute, Hendon had scored three times in six minutes. And, in the final minute, Daval was fouled in the penalty area. A different penalty-taker stepped up, but the result was the same, Steven Ellery-Gonzalez getting the credit for goal number seven. "We played some fantastic football," purred happy assistant manager Jason Fevrier. "We had been well on top in the first half when they scored - only our finishing didn't match our play in the first half. But after the break, we took complete control. It was very difficult to choose a man of the match between Barkley Miguel-Banzo and Ayub El-Harrick, but I will give to the hat-trick hero Barkley.â€

Hendon Under-18s made it three wins on the trot with a 5-1 victory over Yalova Youth on Sunday. It was certainly not plain sailing in the first half as Hendon scratched a lead after 32 minutes, courtesy of Barkley Migue-Panzo. Yalova, however, hit back and equalised five minutes before half-time. During the interval the Hendon management team gave the players a serious motivational talk, as well as making a trio of substitutions. It certainly had the desired effect as Daniel Malley restored the Hendon advantage ten minutes after the resumption. Now in complete control, Hendon started to play the football the coaching staff had been preaching. After 67 minutes, Barkley grabbed his second and, three minutes later, Patrick Daval got his name on the scoresheet. With five minutes to go, Hendon added a fifth goal, from Ayud El-Harrick, to complete what was eventually a highly satisfying morning’s work. "We were on top in the first half, but didn't take our chances," said assistant manager Jason Fevrier. "We gave the boys a strong talking to at half-time and made three changes, after which we were in complete control. Yalova barely got a touch of the ball in the second half. My man of the match was Daniel Malley. He made some great forward runs to create scoring opportunities and he got a goal himself."

Hendon Under-18s continued their good form from last week, but this time turned their domination into goals with a 5-0 defeat of Puma 2000 in the Cheshunt Youth League. For all the excellent approach work, Hendon had to wait for half an hour before they broke the deadlock and it was Bradley Ambrose who gave Hendon their first lead of the season. Ten minutes after the resumption, Ivan Barkley Tilhati scored to make it 2-0 and suddenly the confidence was flowing. Five minutes later, Miguel Banzo drove home a third goal. Goal number four came after 70 minutes, Barkley completing his double and, with four minutes to go, Bazno also completed a brace. Joint manager Jason Fevrier said, "We played some fantastic football today and created lost of opportunities. My man of the match was Patrick Daval, who played out of position but still was easily the best player on the pitch."

Hendon Under-18s produced a magnificent show of fighting spirit to see off William Fitt in the Cheshunt Youth League last Sunday morning. They found themselves a goal behind early on but drew level through Bradley Ambrose. William Fitt scored a second goal before half-time and the teams turned around with Hendon trailing 2-1. But Ivan Barkley Tilhati (who likes to be known by his middle name) soon levelled matters, only for William Fitt to take their third lead of the match with 15 minutes remaining. In a dramatic finish to the game, Barkley made it 3-€“3 with six minutes on the watch and, as the game entered stoppage time a ball from Ryan McFarlane was knocked into the net by Jerome Ntumba to give Hendon victory. Manager Lee Hayes said, "€œI am delighted with the win. We played the better football and created about 24 chances. But we only converted four of them. We will have to learn to be more clinical in our finishing. My man of the match was Barkley."

In the summer we teamed up with an Academy to provide football and education opportunities for Under 18 players. The Academy was lucnhed last year at Hackney COmmunity college, which runs in association with the Academy of SPort East London. Their U18 side played in the Ryman Youth League for Tilbury and on the back of their success from last season they have now taken up the opportunity to join up with Hendon to become our newly formed Under 18 team. A number of their youth players also played regularly for Tilbury's reserve team and a few made first team appearances as well. The Football Academy had an outstanding debut season in the league, whilst reaching the FA Youth Cup - Third Qualifying Round. This season, the Under 18 side will be playing in the Cheshunt Youth League, and the website will be following their progress throughout the campaign. The team will be coached by Jason Fevrier and Lee Hayes, and the academy co-ordinator is Les Fevrier who can be contacted via email on lesfev@aol.com.

We are also pleased to announce details of a link-up with an academy based at Hackney College. As a result of this link-up, the college will be fielding an under 18 side under the Hendon name in the Cheshunt Youth League. More details of this link-up will be available soon.
