The under 21s season finished on a high note this afternoon as they won 2-1 at Barn Elms to secure second spot in the Middlesex County League Division Three. The scorers for the Greens were Glenn Garner and Muj Alsharaf. Our congratulations go to all the players and of course the joint managers of Eamon Finn and Graeme Bourne.

Saturday 03 May - Hendon 4 Harrow Club 5
Harrow Club inflicted immediate revenge on Hendon Under-21s with a 5-4 win over the Hendon youngsters. The Greens took the lead through Raphael O'Selle but Harrow equalised before half-time. O'Selle restored the lead after the break, before Simon Connaughton scored twice to make the lead 4-1. Harrow Club however fought back with four goals to steal the win.

Wednesday 30 April - Harrow Club 2 Hendon 1
Hendon Under-21s inflicted the first league defeat of the season on league champions Harrow Club at a very wet Claremont Road this evening. Despite the heavy rain, the pitch actually played very well and consequently the game was very entertaining and with all credit to both teams, was played in the right spirit. Harrow Club took the lead midway through the first half, and before the break they also hit the woodwork. However, the Greens fought back and were rewarded when Michael Roache scored in the 72nd minute, and the winner came just three minutes later when a shot from Raphael O'Selle was fumbled over the line by the Harrow keeper. The win gives Hendon a great chance of securing second place in the table.

Saturday 26 April - Sporting Hounslow 1 Hendon 7
Hendon Under-21s were far too strong for Sporting Hounslow on their second Cherry Red Books Middlesex County League Division Three trip to West London on Saturday afternoon. Michael Roache, failed to make it four third-minute goals in five weeks - by all of 60 seconds, leaving it until the fourth minute to open the scoring. Raphael O'Selle extended the advantage after 24 minutes and O'Selle grabbed his second of the days a dozen minutes later. Just before the break Sporting Hounslow pulled a goal back, but they still trailed by two goals at the interval. The second half was nothing if not incident packed, with three penalties and a red card. O'Selle completed his hat-trick, from the penalty spot, three minutes after the restart. Number five also went to O'Selle, three minutes later. In the 67th minute, Hendon conceded a penalty, but debutant goalkeeper Jamie Roberts made a fine save. With five minutes to go, Sporting Hounslow had a player sent off and, as the game moved into stoppage time, Hendon were awarded their second penalty. This time it was Diji Bonjoko who had the responsibility of taking the spot-kick and he made no mistake. There was still time for Hendon to add a seventh goal, Billy Taylor the man on target. "We played well today in gorgeous weather," said joint manager Graeme Bourne. "The wind did make things a little difficult but we coped well. My man of the match was Raphael O'Selle, who scored those four goals."

Saturday 19 April - Hendon 6 AMU 3
Hendon Under-21s moved into third place in the Cherry Red Books Middlesex County League Division Three with a comfortable victory at home to AMU on Saturday afternoon. With four matches to play, including two against runaway league leaders Harrow Club, second place is the best that Hendon can achieve and three wins and a draw will well prove enough to cement that position. For the third time in four weeks Hendon took the lead in the third minute with a goal from Michael Roache. This time, however, Hendon built on it and Ercan Yildirim and Simon Connaughton added goals after nine and 14 minutes. AMU did come back into the game, scoring after 25 and 51 minutes, but Ali Khan, Connaughton, again, and Raphael O'Selle all found the target in the second half before AMU netted a consolation with just about the last kick. "At 3-0 up, we were coasting," admitted joint manager Graham Bourne, "and we took our foot off the gas. Once they got it to 3-2, we went up a few gears and wrapped up the game.My man of the match was Diji Bonjoko."

Saturday 12 April - Acton Town 1 Hendon 3
Hendon Under-21s - missing nine players to a variety of injuries - needed another second half improvement to record a seventh straight victory to keep up the pressure on leaders Harrow Club in the Cherry Red Books Middlesex County League Division Three. Acton Town were the hosts and, for the third consecutive week, Hendon took the lead with a Michael Roache goal, this time, however, it was in the 23rd minute. The lead lasted only 12 minutes before Acton Town were level. When the game entered the second half, Hendon again showed their strength and Glenn Garner restored their advantage after 60 minutes. With 18 minutes to go Garner got his second goal and it proved to be enough. "We had nine players out injured � two are for the rest of the season," said joint manager Graham Bourne, "but we struggled on. In the circumstances, with players being out of position, we did really well. My man of the match was Jake Manzi."

Saturday 05 April - Hilltop 3 Hendon 5
Hendon Under-21s game at Hilltop was abandoned in the 82nd minute due to the home teams spectators and players fighting amongst themselves. At the time the Greens were winning 5-3. The league will be holding an inquiry in due course as to whether the result will stand or whether the game will need to be replayed. Hendon once again had to come from behind and, once again, it was thanks to substitutes that the game was changed in Hendon's favour. Continuing on the coincidence theme, Michael Roache opened the scoring for Hendon in the third minute, though this was not from a penalty. The equaliser came soon after, but Diji Bonjoko restored Hendon's advantage midway through the opening half. From the kick-off, Hilltop went straight to the other end and equalised again. Then, on the stroke of half-time, they took the lead. This was the cue for Hendon's joint manager Eamon Finn to make a change, introducing Glenn Garner and he would have a dramatic effect on the game. After 72 minutes, Hendon drew level when Garner scored his first of the afternoon. Six minutes later, Garner was again on target giving the Hendon a lead for the third time. This time, however, Hendon kept it tight and Garner got up to complete his hat-trick, which was the cause of the brawl amongst the home team. With the match officials and Hendon players watching on in astonishment, the officials called the game off. "We had to make changes," said Mr Finn, "and we turned it around in the second half. My man of the match was Glenn Garner for his second half heroics."

Saturday 29 March - Hendon 5 Sporting Hounslow 3
blowing their hopes of promotion with a subpar performance against relegation-threatened Sporting Hounslow on Saturday afternoon. Hendon started brightly and took a third-minute lead with a Michael Roache penalty. A spot-kick, the other way and retaken, saw Sporting draw level, but Roache scored his second after half an hour to restore Hendon#s lead. Having had the advantage of the wind and rain at their backs in the first half, a 2-1 scoreline was not acceptable to Hendon's management and their fears were realised as Sporting scored after 53 and 58 minutes. With 15 minutes to go, Hendon made a double substitution, bringing on James Abdulrahman and Billy Taylor, and they turned the game. Six minutes later, Abdulrahman netted Hendon's equaliser and he set up Ercan Yildirim for a fourth goal just three minutes thereafter. In the last minute Abdulrahman found Taylor, who made sure the points were Hendon's. "We really didn�t play very well today, but we did get the result," said joint manager Graham Bourne. "The double substitution was absolutely critical and for his performance in the those 15 minutes, I named Abdulrahman man of the match."

Hendon Under-21s completed a very easy Cherry Red Books Middlesex County League Division Three double over The Wanderers with a 6-0 victory at Copthall Playing Fields on Saturday afternoon. Once Diji Bonjoko had opened the scoring after 17 minutes, there was only going to be one winner. Raphael O'Selle then struck twice in the same minute, the 22nd, to stretch the lead to 3-0. Five minutes after O'Selle's second goal, Jared Edy scored his first goal for the club and, on the stroke of half-time, Ercan Yildirim added another goal. Hendon made three changes after he break and the only thing that dipped was the quality of finishing because the Greens added only more goal after the interval, Simon Connaughton scoring with 16 minutes remaining. "We were never in trouble today," said joint managers Eamon Finn and Graham Bourne. "It really was just a matter of how many goals we could have scored, especially in the first half. Our man of the match was Ercan Yildirim."

Saturday 01 March - Hendon 3 Uxbridge Town 1
Hendon Under-21s moved up to third in the Cherry Red Books Middlesex County League Division Three with a 3-1 victory over Uxbridge Town, demoting them to fourth. With 11 games remaining, the League championship is probably beyond them, trailing Harrow Club by eight points and having played two games more, but they are behind Hilltop on goal difference (five goals worse off) both teams having an identical playing record. Simon Connaughton sent Hendon on their way with the opening goal after 19 minutes. The advantage was doubled after half an hour when Michael Roache scored and that's the way the score stayed until eight minutes after half-time, when Uxbridge Town reduced the deficit. Any hopes Uxbridge entertained that Hendon might wobble disappeared within four minutes as Ercan Yildarim made it 3-1. From then on, there was only going to be one winner, but there was no change to the scoreline. "This was probably our best team performance of the season," said joint-manager Graham Bourne. "They beat us 6-1 a few weeks ago, so turn it around so comprehensively is very good. My man of the match was Lee Castle, making his full debut. He was excellent and fitted in straight away."

Saturday 16 February - Hendon 5 Renegades 2
Hendon Under-21s inflicted a second Cherry Red Books Middlesex County League Division Three defeat of the season on Renegades, completing a double over them. The Greens lie third in the table, behind Hilltop on goal difference - both teams having played 14 games - and runaway leaders The Harrow Club by five points (and Harrow have three games in hand). The gap between Hendon and the chasing pack, however, is just five points to the team in seventh place. On Saturday afternoon at Copthall Playing Fields, Renegades twice took the lead, first in the 21st minute, then two minutes into the second half. The first equaliser came from Glenn Garner, after 33 minutes, and the second one came from Ercan Yildarim after 54 minutes. From then on Hendon took control and the lead came from Simon Connaughton midway through the second half. Raphael O'Selle quickly gave Hendon some breathing space and the result was guaranteed when Michael Roache popped up to make it 5-2. "We were very good today," said joint manager Graham Bourne. "We have beaten them twice this season and no one else had beaten them on the pitch in the League so far. My man of the match today was Liam Carrara, our left-back. He had a very solid game."

Saturday 12 January - Phoenix Rovers 3 Hendon 5
Hendon got back to winning ways in the Cherry Red Books Middlesex County League Division 3 with a good victory against Phoenix Rovers at Chiswick on Saturday. It was a see-saw contest with Phoenix taking the lead after 20 minutes, only for Raphael O'Selle to tie things up two minutes later. In the 40th minute O'Selle scored his second, but parity was restored before half-time. There were two goals in five minutes early in the second half too but, crucially, both went Hendon's way. First Billy Taylor, making his debut, gave Hendon their second lead; then O'Selle completed his hat-trick. The young Greens held onto their two-goal advantage for 17 minutes, but when Phoenix made it 4-3 with 16 minutes to go, the destination of the points was far from certain. However, in the final minute, O'Selle completed his four-timer and the victory was assured. "We had to work hard for the win," said joint-manager Graham Bourne. "My man of the match was Raphael O'Selle, who scored four times."

Saturday 05 January - Hendon 4 FC Tilburg Regents 6
Hendon Under-21s came back from their Christmas break to find their pitch in an awful state. The opposition, FC Tilburg Regents used simple long-ball tactics and they worked a treat. Hendon the took the lead after three minutes when Raphael O'Selle, playing his first match after two months out injured, finished well. The lead lasted for half an hour, but goals after 33 and 40 minutes for the visitors gave them a half-time advantage. A third goal, three minutes after the restart, stretched FC Tilburg's lead, but Hendon came back within a minute when Glenn Garner scored. It was 4-2 three minutes later, but then Garner and O'Selle scored after 55 and 62 minutes, respectively, to restory parity. However, continuing to use the long ball, FC Tilburg forced defensive errors out of the Hendon back line and they led to two more goals after 65 and 71 minutes. "We could not cope with the conditions," said joint managers Eamon Finn and Graham Bourne. "We tried to play football, but FC Tilburg Regents used the long ball tactic and they forced us into making errors. Our man of the match was Michael Roache who worked very hard up front."

Saturday 15 December - Uxbridge Town 6 Hendon 1
Hendon Under-21s suffered a disappointing defeat in their last match before Christmas, going down 6-1 against Uxbridge Town at Warren Farm. Without first-choice goalkeeper Liban Scott-Libby - who picked up a knock playing the for the first XI in the Middlesex Senior Cup at Harefield last Tuesday, the team made too many errors and paid the penalty. A goal down after just nine minutes, things got worse with further concessions after 19 and 27 minutes. Michael Roache did pull a goal back on the half-hour, but Uxbridge Town added a fourth four minutes before half-time. Things didn't get much better after the restart as Uxbridge scored twice more, after 75 and 90 minutes. "I am very disappointed with the result today," said joint manager Graham Bourne. "We made far too many errors at the back and it cost us. We are going to have to do something about it."

Saturday 08 December - Hendon 6 Phoenix Rovers 2
Hendon Under-21s elected to kick with the conditions in their favour in the first half of their Cherry Red Books Middlesex County League Division Three encounter with Phoenix Rovers at Copthall Playing Fields on Saturday lunchtime, and it proved to be an inspired decision before they turned around with a four-goal lead and won the match by the same margin. It took just 19 seconds for Hendon to take the lead, Carl Ciagoro scoring. After 15 minutes, Michael Roache made it 2-0 and Hendon were on their way. Ciagoro got his second of the match five minutes before half-time and Glenn Garner completed an excellent opening 45 minutes with a fourth goal moments before the whistle. There were four more goals in the second half, all in the space of 14 minutes. Diji Bonjoko made it 5-0 after 56 minutes, only for Phoenix to score four minutes later. In the 68th minute Jan Abdulrahman scored his first goal for the club - on his debut. Phoenix did pull that goal back two minutes later, but there was no more scoring. Joint manager Graham Bourne said, "We battled well today. It was a game of two halves with the conditions being really difficult. My man of the match was Simon Connaughton.

Saturday 01 December - Renegades 1 Hendon 4
Hendon Under-21s put aside their recent dip in form to inflict a first defeat of the season on Renegades on Saturday afternoon. In difficult conditions, Hendon took the lead six minutes into the first half through Michael Roache, but Renegades drew level after 35 minutes and the teams turned around all-square. After the restart, it was Hendon who took control and Glenn Garner made all the difference. Ten minutes into the period Garner scored his first goal to restore Hendon�s lead. This time there was to be no comeback as Garner got his second midway through the period and Garner completed his hat-trick with 15 minutes remaining. Making this performance and result even more impressive was the fact that the team was hit by sickness leading up to the game. "I had six players cry off with flu," said joint manager Graham Bourne. "We had to juggle people around but we played superbly and could have won by more. It was easily our best performance of the season. My man of the match was Kade Francis, who did brilliantly as an emergency centre-back."

Saturday 24 November - Hendon 2 Harrow Club 3
Hendon Under-21s, missing a number of their most experienced players, went out of the Cherry Red Books Middlesex Senior League Junior Cup at the third round stage at Copthall Playing Fields on Saturday afternoon, never really recovering from the concession of an own goal after 80 seconds. Glenn Garner did equalise from the penalty spot after 11 minutes, but he had to limp off immediately following his kick, being injured in the foul that led to the penalty award. Harrow regained the lead after half an hour and, crucially scored in the last seconds of the first half to make it 3-1 at the break. Hendon dominated the second half, hitting the goalframe twice and having two other efforts cleared off the goalline. Michael Roache did reduce the arrears after 70 minute, but Hendon simply could not conjure up an equaliser. "We played really well in the second half," said joint manager Graham Bourne, "but we didn�t get any luck. Losing our captain and oldest player in the first dozen minutes made it very hard for us, especially with the team containing so many players still eligible to play in under-18s football. Michael Roache was my man of the match. He battled so hard up front."

Saturday 17 November - Warren 5 Hendon 5
Hendon Under-21s raced into a 4-0 second half lead over The Warren before a hail of red cards led to a 5-5 draw. Glenn Garner opened the scoring after 28 minutes and, eight minutes, Garner scored again. Just before half-time, an own goal stretched the lead to 3-0. When Garner completed his hat-trick after 52 minutes, it looked as if Hendon were going to stroll to victory, but Garner and a Warren player were dismissed two minutes later. The Warren cut the deficit to two goals with strikes after 63 and 68 minutes, but Hendon recovered their composure. When Diji Bonjoko made it 5-2 with 12 minutes remaining the victory was all but assured. Instead, Bonjoko was dismissed for his goal celebration and the nine men could not hold on against ten, conceding after 81, 84 and 88 minues. "I am very disappointed," said joint manager Eamon Finn. "We didn't keep our discipline and it cost us. We had played well in the first half, but we must learn to keep our mouths shut."

Saturday 10 November - Hendon 7 Acton Town 0
Hendon Under-21s bounced back to form after a couple of recent reverses and handed Acton Town a comprehensive 7-0 defeat in the Cherry Red Records Middlesex County League Division 3 at Copthall Playing Fields on Saturday afternoon. It took a while for Hendon to break the deadlock but once Diji Bonjoko had scored after 28 minutes, there looked like only one winner. Glenn Garner doubled the lead three minutes before the interval, then missed a penalty a similar period after it. But it was a rare blip as Paul Stark made it 3-0 after 52 minutes. Bonjoko grabbed his second before the hour-mark and, with 20 minutes to go, Carl Ciagoro got his name on the scoresheet. Five minutes later, Ciagoro got his second, but the last word belonged to man of the match Bonjoko, who completed his hat-trick after 80 minutes. "We played much better today," said joint manager Graham Bourne, "and I am delighted for Diji Bonjoko, scoring a hat-trick. He did very well up front today."

Saturday 03 November - Willesden Constantine Reserves 7 Hendon 1
Hendon Under-21s, riddled with a flu bug and other absences were forced to take on Willesden Constantine Reserves without half-a-dozen first-choice players, a near-impossible task in the League Cup. Willesden Constantine play in the Reserve section of the Middlesex County League and compete in Junior as opposed to Youth football, so they would have been a stern test for a full-strength line-up. As it was, despite the best efforts of Eamon Finn and Graeme Bourne�s team, they were overrun in the final few minutes of each half. Hendon held Constantine goalless for more than 20 minutes of each half, but by the time Glenn Garner had tallied for Hendon in the 27th minute, the Greens were already two goals down. Two more goals followed in the last few minutes before half-time and three more in the second half, two in the final ten minutes. "The boys gave a really good account of themselves," Mr Bourne said, "but we were really up against it with such a weakened side."

Saturday 27 October - Hendon 1 Barn Elms 4
Hendon Under-21s produced, in the words of joint manager Graham Bourne "The worst performance since we have been in charge of the team" in going down 4-1 at Barn Elms on Saturday. Barn Elms could not have made a much better start, scoring after four minutes and again in the eighth. In the 16th minute, Hendon had a great chance to get back into the game when they were awarded a penalty. However, the normally reliable Carl Ciagoro failed to convert the spot kick and the chance went begging. Glenn Garner did make it 2-1 on the stroke of half-time, giving Hendon at least a foothold in the game, but they didn�t use the psychological advantage gained by scoring just before half-time. In fact it took the heroics of goalkeeper Laurie Cowley to keep the score at 2-1 as he saved a Barn Elms penalty. There was little he could do, however, in the 70th minute as Barn Elms extended their advantage and they added a fourth goal in the last minute. "This was a very poor performance," said Mr Bourne. "Over confidence cost us and some of the players thought they had only to turn up to win. It doesn't work that way and we found ourselves two goals down inside eight minutes. My man of the match was goalkeeper Laurie Crowley, who was excellent."

Saturday 20 October - AMU 2 Hendon 3
Hendon Under-21s shook off the tiredness from their midweek County Cup victory to overcome AMU 3-2 in their Cherry Red Books Middlesex County League Division Three clash. AMU opened the scoring after 25 minutes and, five minutes later, they doubled their advantage. Hendon were in trouble, but they gave themselves a lifeline with Michael Roache's goal three minutes before interval. Whatever was said by joint managers Eamonn Finn and Graham Bourne in the dressing room, it had the desired effect because Raphael O'Selle equalised less than two minutes after restart. It was nip and tuck for most of the rest of the game, but Hendon snatched the winner in the 83rd minute through O'Selle. "The boys had a reaction to Wednesday night and were a little tired today," said joint-manager Mr Bourne. "But we showed great spirit and commitment in coming back and deserved to win. My man of the match was Michael Roache."

Wednesday 17 October - Hampton & Richmond Borough 3 Hendon 5
Hendon Under-18s produced a magnificent fightback to overcome Hampton & Richmond Borough in the Middlesex Youth Cup on Wednesday night. It was the Greens first ever victory in the County's midweek Youth Cup. Matthew Hornblow, making his first start of the season, gave Hendon the lead after 13 minutes, but two goals early in the second half put the Beavers in control. With just three minutes left of normal time, Hendon drew level with a goal from Carl Ciagoro. In extra-time, Hornblow gave Hendon their second lead after 98 minutes and Michael Roache extended the advantage a minute after the teams had changed ends. Hampton did pull a goal back four minutes later, but Hendon went straight back to the other end and made the game safe with Hornblow's hat-trick strike. Joint manager Graham Bourne said, "We showed real courage and determination tonight. My man of the match was Matthew Hornblow for his hat-trick."

Saturday 13 October - Hendon 6 Warren 0
Hendon Under-21s enjoyed a comfortable Cherry Red Books Middlesex County League Division Three League Cup victory over Warren at Barnet Copthall on Saturday afternoon. From the moment Glenn Garner opened the scoring after seven minutes, the result was in little doubt and Hendon extended their lead on the half-hour when Raphael O'Selle scored. The second half was more one-sided with three goals coming in a 12-minute period around the hour mark. Simon Connaughton made it 3-0, before Garner grabbed his second and Matt Hornblow added his name to the list of scorers. With ten minutes to go, O'Selle rounded off an excellent afternoon's work with number six. "We played well today," said joint manager Graham Bourne, "and thoroughly deserved our win. My man of the match was Diji Bonjoko, who was excellent throughout the 90 minutes."

Saturday 06 October - FC Tilburg Regents 4 Hendon 8
Hendon Under-21s took all the intrigue out of this Cherrry Red Books Middlesex League Division Three match by scoring six times in the opening 26 minutes on their way to an a 8-4 demolition of FC Tilburg Regents. A couple of weeks ago, Hendon met the same team's reserve side in the League Cup and enjoyed an even more comprehensive victory. Carl Ciagoro was the main man in this match, scoring all of the first four goals, and doing so with less than 20 minutes on the watch. Glenn Garner and Raphael O'Selle soon got in on the act and with barely a quarter of the game elapsed, Hendon were 6-0 up. However, FC Tilburg reduced the arrears almost immediately and there was then an 18-minute spell without goals, before Jake Manzi made it 7-1 at the interval. Tilburg Regents put on a more impressive show in the second half and scored twice in the opening 15 minutes to make the scoreline more respectable. Substitute Michael Roache added Hendon's eighth goal with a quarter of an hour remaining, but the hosts added a fourth goal, little more than a consolation effort, in the dying moments. "We were brilliant in the first 25 minutes," said a delighted joint-manager Graham Bourne. "Although they scored a few goals in the second half we had the game in hand. My man of the match was Carl Ciagoro."

Hendon Under-21s paid the price for failing to take enough of the countless chances they created and were punished for poor defending in the first half. Having wasted these early opportunities, Hendon conceded goals after 12 and 30 minutes, only reducing the arrears on the stroke of half-time with a stunning 30-yard free-kick from Glenn Garner. A controversial penalty kick, duly converted by Hillside after 50 minutes restored their two-goal advantage, leaving Hendon with a lot of work to do. Simon Connaughton scored after an hour to set up a grandstand finish but, despite, bombarding the Hilltop goal for 30 minutes, the visitors' defence held out and took the points. "We missed so many chances today," said joint-manager Graeme Bourne, "we just couldn't put the ball in the net. I am sure we can turn it around and if we finish better we will beat them in the return."

Saturday 22 September - FC Tilburg Regents Reserves 0 Hendon 13
Hendon Under-21s had little trouble in advancing to the second round of the Middlesex County Football League Junior Cup. Leading by four goals at half-time, the team ran riot after the interval, adding another nine goals. Two of the boys scored hat-tricks, Raphael O'Selle and Simon Connaughton, while there were braces for debutant Byron Orm and Glenn Garner. The other three goals were shared among members of last season's under-16s squad, Michael Roache, Carl Ciagoro and Matt Hornblow, the latter of whom is now the longest serving continuous player at the club, entering his fifth season. The man of the match award went to Byron Orm, who was outstanding in central midfield on his first appearance for the team.

Hendon Under-21s made it two wins out of two in Division Three of the Cherry Red Books Middlesex County League on Saturday afternoon, this time overcoming Warren 3-0. The game was even in the first half, but the Greens took control after the break. After 51 minutes, Michael Roache was sent clear and he fired the ball into the net. Thirteen minutes later, Glenn Garner tried his luck with a long-range shot. The ball caromed off the crossbar and Rafael O'Selle was on hand to knock home the rebound from close range. But Garner was not to be denied. After 74 minutes, he dispossessed a defender and shot home from 18 yards. "They gave us a real battle," said joint manager Eamon Finn. "They were a much better organised team than we faced last week and we had to work very hard for the victory. My man of the match was Niall Haughton. He appeared to cover every blade of grass on the pitch."

Saturday 08 September - The Wanderers 1 Hendon 6
Hendon Under-21s opened their Cherry Red Books Middlesex County League Division Three campaign with a comprehensive 6-1 victory over The Wanderers at Osterley. The home side were given a great start when Hendon conceded a first-minute penalty which was duly converted. It was to be the first of three spot-kicks awarded in the match. Hendon were level after 15 minutes when Glenn Garner scored and they took the lead eight minutes later through Niall Houghton. Ten minutes before the break, Hendon got their first spot-kick and Garner despatched it without fuss. And 10 minutes in the second half Garner completed his hat-trick with his second successful penalty kick. Midway through the period Simon Connaughton stretched the lead to 5-1 and a thoroughly satisfactory result was completed when Raphael O'Selle made it 6-1 after 80 minutes. Man of the match was Jake Manzi.
