Friday 13 May - Juniors win another cup
Following the match between Barnet and Hampstead the Juniors of the Hampstead club met Maypole [Athletic] in the [final of the] Middlesex Minor Cup, a good game resulting in favour of Hampstead by four goals to one. The Juniors had a big share of the game in the first half, but only scored once, through Lawrence, following good work by Clayton and Cole. In the second half Maypole opened strongly, but found Painter safe in defence. Carroll and Lawrence put Hampstead further ahead, but Maypole reduced the balance against them from a penalty, Martin being beaten at the third attempt. The last goal for Hampstead was got by Lowton from a pass by Lawrence. (Hendon & Finchley Times, 13/5/1927)

Friday 06 May - Juniors' season's success

Friday 22 April - Juniors win Charity match
The Willesden Boys, who play under the title of HAMPSTEAD JUNIORS, had a walk-over in their annual charity match at the Hampstead F.C. ground, Cricklewood, on Wednesday [20th April], when they met for the third year an Old Boys' team from Swansea, and secured a victory by 5 goals to nil. The match was in aid of the funds of the Promise Boys' Association. There are some 1,300 Promise Boys throughout the country, of whom 700 come from Willesden. The movement was founded by Mr. F.E. Johnson, and is based on the system of putting boys on their honour to try their hardest to succeed in their various careers. The Willesden Boys are unbeaten and have a season's record of 213 goals against 25. Colonel John Sherwood Kelly, V.C., C.M.G., D.S.O., kicked off. Willesden started strongly, and within the first few minutes were bombarding the visitors' goal. A number of excellent passes from the right wing were cleverly taken by the centre and inside men, but the Swansea goalkeeper, Weeks, was ready for the shots, and made some good saves. Swansea retaliated, and some dangerous moments followed for the home team. Lowton and Sale, Willesden's centre-forward and right winger, did excellent work, and Sale put the leather through the goal-mouth, to be disqualified for offside. Willesden's first score came from Hoskins, inside-left, who sent the ball low, just into the corner of the net. Swansea revived somewhat at this and made a desperate effort to equalise, but the Willesden defence was too much for them, and Carroll, at outside-left, added another for Willesden by beating the visiting goalkeeper with a high shot. Just before half-time Lowton, receiving a pass from the right wing, scored an easy goal. Three points down, in the second half Swansea appeared to have lost spirit and were visibly tiring. One or two sudden bursts provided excitement near Willesden's goalmouth, but Martin proved himself a reliable custodian and cleared some awkward shots. Lowton increased Willesden's lead with a hot shot from a pass by Miles [? not in team below]. The final point was scored by Lawrence with a nice shot after an individual run through. The Willesden boys richly deserved their victory, playing better football throughout. Both teams, however, showed promise of producing some really first-class players. Perhaps the fact that the Swansea boys had arrived in London at 3.30 on Wednesday morning and throughout the day had been "doing" the sights excused them of their defeat. Friday 22 April - Juniors win London Minor Cup
At Enfield on Monday Hampstead Juniors beat Hoxton Manor in the London Minor Cup final by four goals to three, after a very exciting game. Failing to show their usual combination, Hampstead were held in the first half, the first goal being scored by Hoxton, but Lowton, who had previously missed an easy chance, brought the scores level before half-time. In the second half the Hampstead forwards played much better. From a dropping shot Monk gave Hampstead the lead, and further goals were scored by Tierney (from Sale's centre) and Carroll. A little slackness on the part of Hampstead's defence allowed Hoxton to get through twice, bringing the score to 4-3 with ten minutes to go. Friday 25 March - Glendene 0, Hampstead Juniors 6
Glendene met Hampstead Juniors on Saturday and were unable to avenge their previous defeat. Glendene attacked at the opening and Martin had shots to save early in the game. Hampstead then settled down and a centre from Sale was converted by Lowton. The Hampstead forwards were now showing good combination, and Sale, after a good individual run, put them two up. Glendene broke through several times, but found Hampstead's backs strong. Hoskins scored two more for Hampstead, and Lawrence, who should have scored twice earlier in the game, gave them the fifth goal. Glendene played on the defensive for the rest of the game and held Hampstead until Lowton broke through, beating the goalkeeper with a fine header. (Hendon & Finchley Times, 25/3/1927)

Friday 18 March - Juniors in another final
Defeating Uxbridge Unity on Saturday by seven goals to two, Hampstead Juniors have reached the final of the Middlesex Minor Cup. Unity scored first, but Lawrence soon placed Hampstead on level terms. Uxbridge, however, again took the lead, but after that their attack was futile, and Hampstead, after equalising through Lowton, never looked back. In the second half Carroll, Sale, Lowton (2) and Tierney notched goals, and although the issue seemed very open for a time, the game ended in a fairly comfortable victory for the Hampstead boys. Friday 04 March - Dulwich Hamlet Juniors beaten 8-1
Hampstead Juniors entertained Dulwich Hamlet Juniors at Claremont-road, Cricklewood, on Saturday, in the semi-final of the London Minor Cup, and a very good game resulted in a decisive victory for the home side. Hampstead attacked early, but found the visiting defence very sound. After a spell of even play the home forwards were in action and the Dulwich goalkeeper had several shots to deal with. The game had been in progress a considerable time before Hampstead found the net, only to be ruled offside. The Dulwich outside-right broke away several times and from one of his centres the visitors took the lead. Carroll soon put Hampstead on level terms. After the change-over the Hampstead forwards combined well and Lowton put them ahead, Dellow scoring the third shortly afterwards. The homesters continued to press and Lawrence added to the total. Dulwich worked hard to reduce the lead but the home defence held them well, Painter, Clayton and Smith showing good form at this stage. Hampstead's fifth goal came from a penalty kick taken by Dellow, and Monk cleverly beat the defence to put them further ahead. Lowton finished off with two more goals. Playing against Barker's in the Neasden and District League, Hampstead Juniors ran up a score of 13 without response, the scorers being Lowton, Sale, Clayton, Martin, Lawrence, Dellow and Hoskins. Friday 04 February - St. Catherine's 1, Hampstead Juniors 8
The above teams met in the semi-final [of the Neasden & District Cup] on rather a sodden ground at Neasden. Hampstead won the toss and decided to kick with the wind, which was rather strong. They showed good combination against a much heavier team, and Dellow gave them the lead. St. Catherine's tried to equalise, but found that Hampstead's defence was strong. Lowton (3) and Hoskins gave the Juniors three more goals (sic). St. Catherine's at last broke away on the left and the movement resulted in a goal against the Juniors. Friday 03 December - Juniors net 13 in second half
Once again Hampstead Juniors have scored a heavy victory, 13 goals to none being the result of their London Minor Cup-tie with Ward St. Joseph's on Saturday. Hampstead attacked early in the match, and but for their somewhat wild shooting goals would have resulted within the first few minutes. As it was, however, the first half passed with no score, although the Hampstead goalkeeper had not been called upon to make one save. The first goal was scored by Tierney from a fine centre by Sale. This was followed by one from Lowton and another from Tierney. Immediately after Lowton scored again. St. Joseph's broke through, but found Painter (the Hampstead goalkeeper) in good form, and were repelled. Hampstead's score increased by leaps and bounds. Goals were obtained by Sale, Monk and Tierney (2), and Lawrence, who had been injured in the first half, also scored twice. Friday 26 November - Juniors' cup-tie win
Hampstead Juniors beat Neasden St. Andrew's by eight goals to two [in the second round of the Neasden Cup]. In the first half Lawrence (2), Dellow and Lowton scored for Hampstead, and in the second half Hoskins, Clayton, Monk and Lowton were successful marksmen. Friday 05 November - Juniors win 13-0
The Hampstead Juniors won their Neasden League match with All Souls' at Hendon on Saturday by 13 goals to nil. Hampstead soon attacked, resulting in three goals from Lowton, Sale and Hoskins. This seemed to stir All Souls', as they made several runs through. The Hampstead backs, however, were sound. Lawrence, who was playing for the Juniors for the first time this season, combined well with Sale, and scored two for Hampstead. Lowton was also in form, and from centres from both wings he scored two further goals. The All Souls' backs could not hold the Hampstead forwards, whose understanding was marked. Hoskins, who was playing inside to give room for Lawrence, scored five goals. Carroll also scored from a fine centre by Sale. All Souls' tried hard to break through the Hampstead defence, but although they showed good footwork, combination was lacking. (Hendon & Finchley Times, 5/11/1926)

Friday 29 October - Juniors score twelve
Hampstead Juniors, playing at Acton, defeated Barkers in the first round of the Neasden Cup by twelve goals to none, the home defence being quite unable to cope with the smart Hampstead forwards. Friday 22 October - Juniors win again
Playing against a much heavier team at Hendon on Saturday, the Hampstead Juniors came out victorious over the Paddington British Legion with a margin of six goals, the score being 8-2. An attack from the Legion opened the match, and the Juniors were given some lively moments. However, they soon rallied, with the result that Lowton opened the scoring. The Juniors showed some good combination work, the understanding between the half-backs and the forward line being specially noticed. Their play made up for any handicap in weight. Other goals were scored for them by Sale, Carroll (2), Tierney and Hoskins. Towards the end of the game the Legion picked up and pressed forward to score their second goal. Monk, the Hampstead captain, however, replied with the final goal. Painter and Dellow gave a fine defensive display and saved the Hampstead goalkeeper, Martin, much work. Friday 15 October - Good win for the Juniors
In a friendly at Perivale, Hampstead Juniors defeated Halcyon by 7-2, after leading at the interval by 4-1. Goal scorers for Hampstead were Lowton (2), Monk (2), Hoskins (2) and Dellow. (Hendon & Finchley Times, 15/10/1926)
