Signed from Hayes in the summer of 1963 by new manager Ronnie Burgess ahead of the Greens' first season in the Isthmian League. Began in a blaze of glory scoring 13 times in his first 8 appearances before going on to net 39 times in 47 matches overall as Hendon finished runners-up to Wimbledon. Gerry scored the winner in the London Senior Cup final against Enfield before moving on to turn professional with Wimbledon in the summer of 1964.
Moved to the Isle of Wight in later life where he sadly passed away in April 2022 following a lengthy battle with dementia.
