A Norwegian U21, B, and full international, Erik played for Hendon from mid-October to mid-November 1966. In Norway, he played as a central defender for Frigg from 1961 to 1968, finishing fourth in the league on four occasions, and he was also a losing finalist in the 1965 Norwegian Cup.
