Strong, uncompromising defender who was formerly at Watford and joined at the start of the 96/97 season. He was awarded Player's Player of the Year at the end of his first season at Claremont Road. At the beginning of the 2000/01 season, John found himself sidelined and awaiting surgery and consequently left the club.
