Marien joined Hendon on loan from QPR where he spent his career moving through their youth system. A regular in their Under 18 and reserve sides, loan spells to Aylesbury United and Farborough Town were followed by one to join the Greens in a spell to gain extra senior football experience. Marien was released at the end of the 2003/4 season and has since spent most of his career in Ryman League, seeing service at Kingstonian and Windor & Eton before moving to Staines Town to collect a playoff winners medal.
