Joined Hendon in Summer 2004 with Tony Choules as the latter's assistant & coach, following seven highly successful seasons at Northwood. When Choules resigned in early November 2004, Gary accepted the mangerial position and maintained continuity. Released at the beginning of February 2005 after results went into decline, leaving the club in the relegation zone.
