Replaced Reg Ivey in goal during the Athenian League title winning season of 1952/3, appearing in that season's Middlesex Charity Cup Final - something he did the following year sustaining an eye injury in the second half and ending up playing up front during extra time. Missed out on the 1955 FA Amateur Cup final through injury. Moved to Hitchin Town in the summer of 1955.
