Hendon and Dorchester Town played out a very poor goalless draw as they looked to garner enough points to stay clear of the drop zone. As it is Hendon's advantage over the team in 20th place dropped to five point with four games to play.

Sergio Manesio was injured, so Ogo Obi came into the starting line-up. On the bench, clear of suspension, Andy McCorkell came, as did fit again Romario Jonas, with Bilal Sayoud the one to drop out.

Almost half of the game’s best chances came in the first 14 minutes. In the third minute, Luke Tingey, who was to find himself in excellent attacking positions for the Greens shot over the crossbar.

At the other end, two minutes later, Ben Seymour was played through but Chris Grace made a good save to thwart him.

Two minutes after that, Hendon built an attack and when the ball came to Ryan Hope, he tried his luck with a 20-yard shot. It was, however, saved comfortably by Magpies keeper Nick Hutchings.

Just past the 10-minute mark Seymour had another half-chance. Grace was again equal to the challenge and this save was much easier.

In the 14th minute, from a right wing cross, Tingey probably should have done better with a stooping header from a good position, the ball having eluded Nathan Walker and Shaquille Hippolyte-Patrick. The ball went inches wide of the post with Hutchings little more than a spectator.

Seymour, was at the heart of what little Dorchester offered in attack. Just past the half-hour mark, set up by Tom Blair and Billy Lowes, the striker - on loan from Exeter City - shot wide though his angle was tight.

Connor Calcutt found himself, momentarily, with a chance as he got the better of Callum Rose just inside the six yard box. However, as he controlled the ball, Rose recovered and it allowed Hutchings to dive on the ball and grab it.

Shortly before half-time Connor Calcutt crossed and Ogo Obi almost opened the scoring with a header, but, watched by the beaten Hutchings, Rose made a spectacular goal-line clearance with a diving header.

In the second half, Shaquille Hippolyte-Patrick saw his shot saved as Hendon pressed for a winner. He also fired narrowly wide of the target from a good position and although Hutchings was beaten, two defenders would have been close enough to make an intervention had the ball been going between the posts.

All four substitutions came in the final 15 minutes with Antonio Diaz being replaced by Aaron Rodriquez for Dorchester. A few seconds later, Hendon made what was their only change, with Obi making way for Lewis Toomey.

Dorchester later took off James Granger and Neil Martin with Dom Panesar-Dower and Tom Blair, respectively, replacing them. All four were like-for-like (or similar for similar, maybe) changes, suggesting that the managers were relatively with the way things were going.

Hutchings remained the busier of the two goalkeepers, but Dorchester did have a chance when they had a free-kick in a shooting position. Seymour took responsibility for it and although he bent the ball over and around the three-man wall, Grace was in position in plenty of time to catch the ball at chest height

Another half-chance came Hendon’s way when Hippolyte-Patrick attempted a spectacular overhead kick. He missed the ball and it fell to Calcutt, who was very quickly closed down.

With five minutes remaining the Greens thought they had made the breakthrough when Calcutt shot. A defender, however, threw himself in front of the ball and deflected it away for a corner.

In the end it will be the visitors who were happier to come away with the share of the spoils.
