In their replayed F.A. Cup-tie at Chesham yesterday, Hampstead gained a notable victory, winning on their merits as the cleverer and faster side by 3 goals to two. They meet Barnet at home in the next round on Saturday, October 29th.
Reinke opened the scoring for Hampstead by converting a pass from Howell, but Rance equalised with a penalty. Just before the interval, however, Howell gave the visitors the lead again, scoring from a pass by Young.
In the last quarter-of-an-hour of the second half Young again provided an opening from which Reinke was successful with his shot, and a minute before the final whistle blew Lacey scored for Chesham after Rance had failed with a penalty.
In the visitors' half-line, Pease played a superb game, and up forward the left-wing pair, Howell and Smy, gave Dewick a busy time, the home goal being bombarded all through the game.
