Match Report

Hendon defeated Kings Langley in a friendly at SJP by 1--0, thanks to a goal from Kai Brosnan shortly before the hour mark. The move may have been devised on the Harrow Borough training ground last season, as it also involved Billy Leonard, who, like Brosnan, has moved from Harrow to Hendon during the close season. There was certainly a good understanding throughout the match between the two players.

This was Kings Langley's first match in preseason, and they took the opportunity to play 22 players, changing almost the whole starting eleven at half-time. As well as players from last season and a number of trialists, the Kings' squad included ex-Hendon men Sam Murphy, Rene Howe, and Cheyce Grant, all of whom have signed for them this summer.

The match was a feisty affair at times, with the first potential flashpoint coming in the first few minutes. However, it never threatened to boil over into unpleasantness at any stage.

Joe White, playing in an unfamiliar role as a defensive midfielder, limped off after 10 minutes, and was replaced by Blaise Riley-Snow, who excelled in the role, and who signed forms for Hendon after the match. He often seemed to have time to spare when some of those around him, on both sides, didn't.
