Hendon picked up just their second win of the season courtesy of an excellent second half performance at Lowestoft Town, the game ending 3-2 in favour of the Greens.

Gary McCann made one change to the starting line-up with Jack Bennett replacing Billy Lobjoit who dropped to the bench. In the Lowestoft starting eleven were former Hendon loanees Ashlee Jones and Bradley Woods-Garness, while Will Viner was on the bench for the home side.

The game started as bad as possible for Hendon as a push in the box in the opening minute gave the referee no option but to give a penalty, which Woods-Garness duly converted despite Horlock appearing to get fingertips to the ball.

Hendon's first opening of the half came after 6 minutes when Bennett delivered a cross, but Junior Morias could only head the ball straight at Jones.

That saw the beginning of a long period of play where the Greens were very much on top, but didn't create anything completely clear cut, and did give the ball away cheaply in midfield a few times.

Dave Diedhiou, Morias and Jefferson Louis were involved in much of the good work, and all three had half chances, none of which tested the home keeper.

Hendon had a penalty shout of their own in the 34th minute, but Curtis Haynes-Brown had made a superb challenge to put the ball out for corner.

Lowestoft's only other real chance of the period saw Andrew Fisk fire wide of the goal, and just before half-time Morias nodded over the bar.

Clearly, the half-time message was to make more use of the possession, and that is exactly what the Greens did. In the 51st minute, Louis crossed the ball into the box, and Bennett slammed the ball into the net.

Five minutes later it got even better for Hendon when they took the lead. This time it was a cross from Diedhiou that was converted by Morias that saw the ball nestle in the back of the net.

Not long after, there was a chance for the Greens to go two goals ahead, as Louis saw his effort go straight to the keeper having been put in by Morias.

Then, almost out of nothing, Lowestoft scored. A Hendon attack broke down and the Trawlerboys counter-attacked. The ball was played across the pitch to Robert Eagle, who took a touch and then fired the ball across Charlie Horlock into the far corner of the net. It was a quality finish from the Lowestoft wide-man.

The home side came back into the game for a while, and but the Hendon back line held firm, Bennett making one very important clearance when the ball was played into the box.

With ten minutes to go, the assistant referee ruled that Jones had carried the ball outside of the 18 yard box when clearing it, but the Greens were unable to make anything from the free kick.

It was different however in the 87th minute. Lowestoft, who had grown more and more frustrated as the game drew nearer the end, gave away a string of free-kicks and were punished when Lee O'Leary lifted the ball into the box, and Sam Flegg rose and sent a looping header over Jones into the back of the net much to the delight of the travelling support.

Woods-Garness had a couple of chances to earn another equaliser for Lowestoft, but he was unable to test Horlock, and the Greens were able to hold on to earn a valuable three points thanks to an excellent performance, particularly in the second half.
