Match Report

On Saturday Hampstead visited Enfield and a good friendly resulted in a draw of two all.

Hampstead were without Moody and Wardlaw. A newcomer to the forward line in H. Vanner, late of the Royal Navy Depot, Chatham team, was played at inside-right, and when he has settled down should add strength to the attack. A. Owens was also given a run in the forward line, and he gave a satisfactory display for his first game with Hampstead in that position.

At the commencement of the game Hampstead took up the attack and it was encouraging to see the Hampstead forwards shooting from long distance and any angle without trying to walk the ball into the net.

After two or three shots Owens opened the score for Hampstead at the end of twenty minutes' play, but before the interval Enfield equalised and immediately took the lead. Twenty minutes after the restart Shearcroft, receiving a good through pass from Vanner, went on to equalise.
