Golders Green lost their last match of the season at Claremont Road on May 26 - a Herts and Middlesex League game.
Fair was again the most forceful forward, while Cochrane was the most skilful footballer on view. The Green were without Roberts, but Teevan deputised ably.
Wealdstone took the lead in just under ten minutes, when, with Golders Green all over the place, Heathcote converted a centre by Barker. From then on, the Green did most of the attacking; Hewlett cleared a good free kick by Bossoms, saved from Cochrane and punched the return from Stroud for a corner; Fisher came forward and shot through a ruck of players, the ball hitting the upright and rebounding with Hewlett unsighted. Stroud, who started listlessly, improved when he moved to inside right, but still held the ball too close; however, after 37 minutes, he gave to Topp, who shot low; Hewlett dived too late and the ball passed under his body into the net to equalise for Golders Green.
The second half was similar. The Green fumbled the early stages and Heathcote, now centre forward, put Wealdstone ahead again. The Green began to press hard and the Wealdstone goal survived a series of terrific bombardments; but the equaliser could not be gained.
