Match Report

The Crescent FC sustained their heaviest defeat this season at the hands of Christ Church (Hampstead) - a team which holds the proud position of being at the top of their division in the Finchley & District League.

The Crescent turned up with a rather weak team, and some who took part in the game were suffering from the common complaint of influenza. The match took place on the Christ Church ground in Cricklewood Lane on Saturday.

Crescent lost by six goals to nil, and they were certainly beaten by a team much better than themselves. During the first half the home netted the ball on four occasions. The second half was more evenly contested, the visitors giving the home team more work to do.

A couple of rather easy shots were, however, let through by the Crescent custodian. On several occasions during the latter part of the game Crescent tried hard to reduce the score - Gibson, Medway and S Hearn putting in some hard work, but they could not bring about the downfall of the home goalkeeper
