Hampstead Town, in their home Athenian League match with Cheshunt, confirmed the success they achieved over their opponents in the previous week's cup tie, but with the more convincing score on this occasion of three clear goals [3-0]. Cheshunt played well and pluckily all through, their noted left wing pair, R. Cooper and A.E. Sell, and also their defence, showing to advantage on many occasions, but Hampstead enjoyed a monopoly of attack, and scored three times in twenty-five minutes of the opening half.
The first goal was from a penalty - an unfortunate mishap for the visitors - converted by C. Wise, Travers Day scoring the second with a fine effort, and Lewis Smith the third.
Two changes in the Hampstead side effected a marked improvement, Travers Day accommodating himself well to the inside right position, and W.F. Mays playing creditably at left back. Another noted full back, who has just signified his desire to join the club, is likely to help Hampstead in the near future.
