Hampstead Town's visit to Guildford resulted in full Athenian League points, and they fully deserved their win, for in the opening stages they overwhelmed the home side, and throughout had the majority of the attack. Two of Hampstead's reserve players, J. Humphries at right back, and T.W.B. West at inside left, made admirable deputies in these positions and gave a good display.
In the first half Guildford rarely got within range of the Hampstead goal, and after continuous pressure Travers Day gathered a perfect centre by S. Briscoe and put Hampstead ahead. Soon after the interval Guildford equalised with a good effort, but later Travers Day gave Hampstead the victory with a good shot following a faulty clearance by the home backs. G.H. Perry also netted for Hampstead, but this was disallowed.
