Hendon continued their preparations with an easy victory over Hanwell Town.
Martin Randall and Ricci Crace both had good scoring chances in the first half, the latter hitting the crossbar, while the former had one cleared off the line.
The first goal against Hanwell came from triallist Mo Stevenson, whose cross deceived the goalkeeper and flew into the roof of the net just inside the far post. The lead was doubled by another newcomer, Dave Hunt, who was released by a fantastic pass in midfield and he slotted the ball past the goalkeeper, with the aid of a deflection.
Rob Haworth grabbed the other two goals, the first a thumping low drive after the home defence had been carved apart by a fine flowing move, and the second as scrappy as his first was clean. This time the provider was Dale Binns who outwitted three defenders before delivering a low cross, which the keeper and Haworth reached simultaneously and the striker swivelled on the ground and toe-poked the ball over the line from about a metre out.
With a couple of minutes remaining, Hendon goalkeeper Luke Thornton, like Hunt formerly with Ware, was beaten by an overhit backpass from new signing Andy Cook, but the keeper redeemed himself with an excellent save by his right post moments later.
