On Saturday Hampstead had Hayes as visitors for their third League game in three days, and were again weakly represented. The reserves, however, as in previous games, gave a good account of themselves, the match being drawn 4-4.
Berry, playing at outside-left in place of Moore (injured), opened the score from a pass by Morton, and Evans then put Hampstead two up, receiving a pass by Edwards. Brown scored for Hayes, but Evans again increased Hampstead's lead, the half-time score being 3-1.
During the second half the going, as can be imagined, was very heavy, and Hayes, the heavier and more experienced players, eventually drew level, goals being scored by Brown and Long. Berry scored for Hampstead, and two minutes from time Caesar again equalised for Hayes, following a corner.
