Match Report

Golders Green on Wednesday evening visited Redhill, where they were beaten in an Athenian League game by six goals to none. At the first meeting at Cricklewood in January Golders Green won by eight goals to none.

Golders Green were quite outplayed on Wednesday. The game throughout was very ragged and there was much haphazard and useless kicking on both sides. At the outset Golders Green attacked and F. Boston put across some fine centres, only to see them easily cleared owing to the weakness of the other forwards. Redhill's first goal was obtained by CORBY. His long cross-shot hit the upright, the ball then rebounding into the net. Shortly afterwards CRESWICK, with a good shot from the right wing, got Redhill's second goal.

In the second half Redhill scored four times without reply, CORBY, COLWELL and MARLOW (2) being the successful marksmen.

For Golders Green, W. Boston played well at right-back, and credit is due to Weaver for his fine defensive play against Fargetter, a clever forward, who, it will be noticed, failed to score.

Golders Green fielded the same side that lost to Enfield last Saturday, but considerable changes are being made in the team to face Wathamstow Avenue at Claremont Road tomorrow (Saturday).
