Golders Green in the return game at Claremont Road [on Boxing Day] took complete command of the game and ran riot, piling up their highest war-time score of 9-2.
Within 12 minutes they were three up, Yates scoring two and Stroud a third. Wealdstone rallied, but Yates, from Bucci's pass completed his "hat trick." The 'Stones twice hit the bar, before Bucci headed home the fifth. Pulling scored the sixth from Stroud's centre following a pass by Rogers.
Half-time score 6-1 [scorer of Wealdstone's goal not reported]. No interval was taken, and soon East, in difficulties with a centre from Stroud, sent the ball to Bucci, who scored easily. Wealdstone attacked, gained two corners, Keen stoppping a certain goal. Stroud scored the eighth from Bucci's pass.
Soon afterwards Yates kicked a great shot, but was ruled off-side. Then L. Green went through for Wealdstone and Moore scored from his pass. The home side restored the balance when Bucci completed his "hat trick" from Yates' pass.
